Ruaa Centre Concludes a Training Course on Climate Adaptation Leadership and the Empowerment of Community Female Leaders in Abyan

Ruaa Centre for Strategic Studies, Consultations, and Training concluded a training course on Thursday titled "From Fragility to Resilience: Training Community Female Leaders to Lead Climate Adaptation in Abyan." The course was implemented as part of a project supported by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Berghof Foundation, and supervised by the Political Development Forum.

The closing day featured a comprehensive session dedicated to reviewing the training's outcomes and practical outputs, discussing ways to enhance local climate action, along with future recommendations aimed at raising environmental awareness and empowering women in the fields of sustainable development.

In a speech delivered during the closing ceremony, Dr. Jaklin Mansoor Al-Batani, Head of Ruaa Centre, emphasized that the course represents a qualitative step towards building the capacities of women to lead community climate action. She praised the interaction and commitment of the participants throughout the training days and confirmed that the Centre will continue to implement programs that contribute to entrenching the concepts of climate peace and environmental justice in the local community.

Al-Batani expressed her pride in the enthusiasm and understanding of climate adaptation and sustainable development concepts demonstrated by the female leaders, stressing the importance of continuing such programs to become community platforms for positive change and the empowerment of women in the field of environmental leadership.

The closing ceremony for the five-day course included the distribution of participation and appreciation certificates to the trainees, in an atmosphere filled with positive interaction and gratitude for the supporting and implementing entities.

The participants expressed their happiness with the training content, which enabled them to acquire new knowledge about climate adaptation, greenhouses, institutional capacity building, and environmental peace. They also affirmed their commitment to continuing their work for the climate and establishing a women's network among the participants to coordinate and organize their efforts. This network aims to contribute to raising community environmental awareness and launching community initiatives to protect the environment and adapt to climate changes.
